Great unified headset - works with deskphone, mobile, and computer
I wear a headset for hours at a time in my home office. It's usually for business calls using my landline deskphone, skype (internet "soft phone"), or my iPhone. For quite a while I've used a Plantronics headset that only worked with my landline phone, and occasionally struggled with bluetooth headsets for my laptop and iPhone. These bluetooth headsets generally reduced the sound quality.Versatility --With the Jabra Pro 9470, I can now switch seamlessly between my deskphone, my computer, and my iPhone. If I get a call on my deskphone, I just have to pick up the headset from its base, and lift the deskphone receiver handset off the hook, and the Jabra headset jumps to work. Same thing if I get a call to my iPhone. Just pick the headset off its charging base, and it jumps to work. I leave my computer audio in/out settings on the Jabra 9470, and since it supports wideband audio, I can use the headset for just about any kind of audio content. And it uses DECT 6 for the...

I also like how the earpeace sits softly on the ear and allows you to hear your own voice when speaking. I very much dislike headsets that isolate the sound, and when you speak, it feels like your under water. That is not the case with this headset.Voice quality is excellent. Owners that are getting poor results may need to check their settins, because the voie quality is on par with a good quality wires headset. The mic on this headset will pick up the softest whisper. And the noise blackout feature is not byperbole, it is very impressive! More than just Bluetooth
For those of you shopping for just a bluetooth headset, there may be a bit of sticker shock. But there's more here than meets the eye.First of all, this is a long-range, cordless headset for a business phone. For comparison, its on par with the GN 9350 series with a range of 100ft when used with the base connected to your office phone (NOT Bluetooth). For remote-answering, you may also want to check out a GN1000 lifter or an electronic hookswitch (EHS) for your make/model phone system. These types of headsets are usually around $200 for decent models with noise-cancellation.Then throw Bluetooth into the mix. With a tap on the screen, or holding the earpiece button for a few seconds, the Bluetooth mode is engaged. Note that Bluetooth has a range of 80ft or less, so this is more limited at the workplace. Pricey, but great product
I've had this headset for a couple of months now, and I love it. The only thing I don't love is the price - it' really expensive! I bought an adaptor for it so that it works with my Avaya 5410 Desk phone - I definitely recommend getting such an adapter if you have an office phone, as it simplifies the interaction with the desk phone (p.s. - get the electronic adapter, not the adapter that physically lifts the handset). Note that Jabra has several models for this type of headset - the one I bought works with cell phone, desk phone, and computer (via USB), but other models work with just 1 or 2 devices. Make sure you know what you're buying.Let's get into the details.When my desk phone rings, all I have to do is pick up the headset, put it on my head, and start talking. Gets better over time, great device
I have been wearing headsets most of the time in the office and at home for many years. Plantronics products and now this Jabra.The specs looked great, but at first I was disappointed with sound quality and various interferences, garbled voice intermittently and so forth.After 2 (automatically notified) firmware upgrades, it now works flawlessly with PC (Skype), landline (Panasonic PBX phone), and various cellphones, including Nexus One.Lots of nice new features the firmware didn't have before too, like caller-id display on the base unit for bluetooth calls, ...Now I am buying a second unit, and happy to recommend it to all.I would like more customization options (prioritizing calls per line, things like that), but it would probably make the product too complex for many users.Great product, good support, looks like it was just released a bit early.
